Earn Tech Points in battle to unlock each character's eight single Techs in order.
Visit Spekkio to enable magic for Crono, Marle, Lucca, and Frog. Robo and Ayla learn their full ladders without that ritual; Magus joins with magic.
Once two characters know the component Techs, fight with them together to reveal a dual Tech.
Most three-person combinations containing Crono and excluding Magus unlock a triple Tech after prerequisites and a battle together.
Five additional triple Techs require a specific rock accessory equipped: Black Rock, Blue Rock, Gold Rock, Silver Rock, or White Rock.
