Meet Marle, repair 600 A.D., survive the trial, and learn why 1999 A.D. must be changed.
1. The Millennial Fair
1000 A.D.
Objective: Meet Marle and follow her through Lucca's Telepod Gate.
Take the 200 G allowance from Crono's mother, go north to Leene Square, bump into Marle, return her pendant, and let her join.
For favorable trial testimony: return the girl's cat, leave the old man's lunch alone, wait while Marle buys candy, speak to Melchior before Marle, and do not offer to sell her pendant.
Visit Lucca's exhibit after the crowd opens. Try the Telepod, then let Marle volunteer; when her pendant reacts and she vanishes, take it and follow through the Gate.
2. The Queen Returns
600 A.D.
Objective: Find the missing Marle after history mistakes her for Queen Leene.
Cross Truce Canyon, enter Guardia Castle, and follow the audience to the queen's room.
After Marle disappears, meet Lucca downstairs. She explains the paradox: the real Queen Leene must be rescued before Marle's ancestry is erased.
Search the southern settlements for word of the queen, then investigate Manolia Cathedral west of the castle.
3. The Queen is Gone
600 A.D.
Objective: Clear Manolia Cathedral and restore the royal timeline.
Inspect the suspicious sparkle in the cathedral, fight the disguised Naga-ettes, and accept Frog's help.
Work through the cathedral's side rooms and hidden passages; use the organ switches to open the route behind the main hall.
Defeat Yakra, free Queen Leene and the Chancellor, return to the castle, then recover Marle before using the canyon Gate.
Major encounter: Yakra counters nearby attackers; keep healing available and use your strongest single or dual Techs.
4. We're Back!
1000 A.D.
Objective: Return Marle to Guardia Castle.
Exit the Gate at Truce Canyon and travel through Leene Square toward Guardia Castle.
Enter the castle with Marle. The Chancellor arrests Crono and sends him to trial.
5. The Trial
1000 A.D.
Objective: Survive the verdict, escape prison, and flee Guardia.
Answer the Chancellor truthfully; the witnesses reflect your fair actions. Any verdict still leads to prison.
Either wait for Lucca's rescue or break out, collecting your equipment and exploring cells before climbing the tower.
Fight the Dragon Tank on the bridge, reunite with Marle, and escape through Guardia Forest into the newly opened Gate.
Major encounter: Destroy the Dragon Tank's head first to stop healing and prevent counterattacks, then remove the wheel and body.
6. Beyond the Ruins
2300 A.D.
Objective: Learn what destroyed the world and give Arris Dome hope.
Cross Site 16 to Arris Dome. Descend into storage, defeat Guardian and its Bits, and search beyond the food locker.
Watch the computer record of Lavos erupting in 1999 A.D.; the party chooses to change that future.
Take the Seed back to Doan, receive the Jetbike Key, and cross Site 32 by racing Johnny or walking the ruins.
Major encounter: Defeat both Bits, then damage Guardian before it revives them. Repeat; attacking Guardian while Bits remain triggers a counter.
7. The Factory Ruins
2300 A.D.
Objective: Restore power to Proto Dome and open its Gate.
Repair Robo in Proto Dome and take him into the Factory. Use the crane and password terminals to reach the security system.
Disable the factory, then retreat as the emergency alarm starts.
Robo faces the R-Series; heal him after the fight and use the Proto Dome Gate.
Major encounter: R-Series fight as six units. Area attacks and Lucca's fire damage shorten the battle.
8. The End of Time
End of Time
Objective: Learn time-gate rules, magic, and the route back to 1000 A.D.
Speak with Gaspar. Only three travelers may leave together; extra members wait here and can be swapped at the party circle.
Enter Spekkio's room, circle clockwise three times, and speak with him to awaken magic in eligible characters.
Use the Medina Village Gate. The bucket leads directly toward Lavos and is optional until the finale.
