Entrance and gate
From start: right 1, up 5, left 1, up 2, left 2. Bomb below the left of the two large rocks.
Go north from the entrance and present all eight fragments to pass the Old Man. A potion shop is one screen west outside; the walkthrough recommends a full Red Potion, but its displayed sixteen-heart state is preparation rather than an entrance requirement.
Branch A · Magical Key
- After the Triforce gate, go west and bomb north.
- Fight Lanmola by striking its head. Push the left block, descend, and take the underground passage.
- Continue through only the rooms that gate blocks or stairs. Compass and Map detours remain optional.
The Magical Key opens every locked door without being consumed, so this branch needs no ordinary-key pickups.
Branch B · Ordinary keys
- After the Triforce gate, go north again, clear the room for a key, and bomb west.
- Fight Lanmola at the head, push the left block, and use the underground passage.
- Collect the two additional keys south of the map-area Patra before joining the later locked-door route.
This branch adds three documented key pickups. Do not follow the Magical Key branch unless you collected that item in Level 8.
Both branches above reconverge for the route below.
Common route · Red Ring
- Clear the difficult Wizzrobe room that gates the stairs, push the left block, and descend for the Red Ring.
- Return through the first Patra area. After the Old Man’s advice, bomb west, clear the Wizzrobes, push the left block, and use the passage.
The Red Ring halves damage relative to the Blue Ring and reduces damage to one quarter of the starting green tunic’s amount. Like-Likes can still consume the Magical Shield.
Common route · Silver Arrow
- Defeat the elliptical-orbit Patra, then push the left block and take the next passage. Remove all seven small orbiting eyes before attacking a Patra’s main eye.
- Clear the required Wizzrobe-and-Bubble room. Push the middle-right block to reveal the Silver Arrow stairs.
- Continue through the Like-Like and Blade Trap rooms, bomb the documented west walls, take both passages, and defeat the final mandatory Patra to open Ganon’s door.
The Silver Arrow is required to defeat Ganon; do not approach the final battle without it.
Ganon and Zelda
- When the room darkens, Ganon becomes invisible and moves between firing positions. His fireballs cannot be blocked by the Magical Shield.
- Use sword strikes to find him. After four hits he turns brown; fire one Silver Arrow to defeat him.
- Collect the Triforce of Power from the ashes to open the north door.
- Slash the fire in the final room and approach Princess Zelda to trigger the ending and credits.
The walkthrough offers corner-slashing as a practical tactic, but describes Ganon’s pattern as random; treat it as advice, not a guaranteed safe method.
