The nine-dungeon path
Level 1 · The Eagle
Take the Wooden Sword first. Optional preparation can add three hearts, White Sword, shield, Arrow, potion access, and Blue Ring.
Entrance: right 1, up 4, cross the bridge left, enter the tree.Leave with the Bow, Boomerang, and first fragment.
Level 2 · The Moon
Use bomb shortcuts when stocked to save keys. Collect the Magical Boomerang; feed Dodongo two bombs.
Entrance: right 4, up 2, right 2, up 1, left 1, up 1.Level 3 · The Manji
Attack Darknuts from the side or rear. Collect the Raft before taking a boss shortcut; bombs can remove several Manhandla heads.
Entrance: up 1, left 4, down 1, right 1.Level 4 · The Snake
Use the Raft for the optional coast Heart Container, then reach the island dungeon. Collect the Stepladder and keep distance from Like-Likes.
From the coast return: left 1, up 1, left 6, down 3, left 3; take the dock.Level 5 · The Lizard
Use the Stepladder for another heart, collect the Power Bracelet, and take the twelve-heart Magical Sword if following the comfort route. Lost Hills requires four consecutive north screens. Collect the Whistle (Recorder).
Level 6 · The Dragon
Reach it from Level 5 or use the Power Bracelet’s middle warp. Do not spend your only key on the opening east hint room. Collect the Magical Wand (Magical Rod); shoot Gohma’s open eye with an Arrow.
Level 7 · The Demon
Buy Bait for 60 rupees, then use the Whistle at the pond entrance. Bomb through the documented walls to preserve keys. Collect the Red Candle and optional sixteen-bomb upgrade.
Level 8 · The Lion
Burn the lone entrance bush. The Magic Book and Magical Key are optional, but collecting both gives the item-complete route and makes Death Mountain simpler.
Entrance: right 4, up 2, right 1, down 1, right 1.Level 9 · Death Mountain
Bring all eight fragments and preferably a full Red Potion. Use the Magical Key branch if available; collect the Red Ring and the required Silver Arrow before Ganon.
Entrance: right 1, up 5, left 1, up 2, left 2; bomb below the left rock.
