Combat rhythm
- Create distance. Enemies hit hard when Goku is pinned against scenery.
- Stun after Solar Flare unlocks. Switch with L, fire the technique, land one safe melee sequence, then disengage.
- Charge only in a real opening. Kamehameha is powerful, but holding B roots your plan in place and consumes Ki.
- Let Ki recover. Move in a wide loop until the gauge refills instead of trading hits.
Flight and exploration
Flight crosses water, gaps, and some height changes. While airborne Goku moves faster and avoids ordinary attacks, but every takeoff consumes a finite charge. Green pickups restore up to 10 charges; red pickups restore up to 20. Capacity rises with levels.
Use Select before a required crossing. On long routes, land as soon as the obstacle is cleared rather than spending charges for ordinary movement.
Saving, healing, and inventory
The menu has two save slots. Save before bosses, after handing in multi-part quests, and before leaving a major region. Herbs restore one quarter of maximum HP; Senzu Beans restore all HP and Ki. Ordinary items can respawn after leaving and returning to an area.
The original cartridge does not provide modern autosaves, checkpoints, or cloud synchronization. The checkboxes in this guide are browser-local notes only; they do not change the game save.
Progression
Defeating enemies and completing quests awards experience. Goku begins at level 1 and the documented cap is level 25. The practical route targets level 6 before the first forest, level 8 before Raditz, roughly level 20 on early Namek, and level 25 before Frieza.
Permanent route rewards include Solar Flare, Kamehameha, and speed increases. Track every permanent acquisition →
